CCC Hymn 13

Good behaviour for thee all I pray
Ye all my entire prophets
Eschew all bitterness and envy
And move nearer to Lord Jesus

Yesterday, we began to examine the life of Job as to how he was a source of encouragement to people of his generation. In furtherance to that study, we read this morning that aside from being a source of encouragement, he also had a good testimony. What this implies is that people trusted his intention for being a source of encouragement. He was not doing it for popularity but simply by an act of love. Amen. He never cheated any of his friends nor failed to pay his employee. He demonstrated what courtesy to everyone as he result he was praised by all. Amen.

Beloved, what is your testimony? Do you show good disposition to people? Are you concerned about the progress of others or you are just self-centered? Do you only do good to those you know could be of help you back or get a direct reward? Know that there is always a reward for this which you may even receive when it seems as if all hope is gone. Take a look at the story of Tabitha for instance, her good testimony was enough to bring her back to life. Beloved, will you not commit yourself to an act of good deed so as to have a good testimony? Know that this does not need to be deliberate but can be done unconsciously. May God grant you this enablement in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Know also that, the only way to overcome evil is by doing good (Romans 12:21)

In the light of today’s study, what are the benefits of having a good testimony?
