CCC Hymn 155

Thy mercy, we request O Lord
Open thy mercy gates
For us poor helpless sinners
We pray thee fervently

The mercies of God is what every man must endeavor to strive for as he journeys through life. Mercy is what takes a man to where ordinarily he should not attempt by virtue of his qualification, merit, connections, or even strength. Amen. That is what a dimension of God’s mercy can take a man to. However, today’s reading brings our consciousness to another dimension of God’s mercy. This is about his understanding that it is only by His heavenly help and hands that we can be free from sin. He is not a God who will forever be angry with us so far we have acknowledged our sins and shortcomings. Amen. The scripture clearly says this that if his people who are called by his name shall confess and turn away from their sins, he will not only hear from heaven but he will make their land prosperous again. Amen.

Several biblical characters experienced this dimension of God’s mercy. For example, how could you have imagined that Paul who was a known persecutor of God’s people can later be a renowned Apostle? Beloved, do you think that your sin is grave that God cannot forgive you? Turn to Him today, confess your sins, and I am sure that the mercies of God will locate you in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Which dimension of God’s mercy was treated today and how can a man attract this?
