TRUTHFUL TO HIS COVENANT

Reference Text

Psalm 103:18 (NLT)

But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments

Reference Hymn

CCC Hymn 682 stanza 2

I will do the will of the Father
I will do the will of the Father
No matter all the temptations
I will not leave Jesus alone

The Almighty God in every generation is always for a man who will be truthful to his covenant with him. A man who He will be sure will not at any point in time disappoint Him but hold on to his own part of the covenant. Amen. This is because such a man will be able to ensure that his descendants and unborn generation adhere to the instruction and requirement of the government. One of the rare characters in the Bible whom God found was Abraham.

Genesis 18:19 (NLT)

I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised

However, for a man to operate in this realm he must first of all personally walk in line of that direction before transferring similar messages to its unborn generation. What does it mean to be truthful to the covenant? It means to hold on to your covenant in the first encounter with God. That is, the point when you surrendered all to Him. For those born in the church and were christened, the 8th day covenant when Deuteronomy 28:1-14 must be kept. Knowing well that God will keep His own part of the covenant, you also must not fail in this. May God grant you this enablement in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Today’s text submits that it is only those who remain committed to the covenant that will continually enjoy the love of God as His salvation will also extend to the unborn generation of the faithful. Amen.

Discussion:

Which dimension of God’s mercy was treated today and how can a man attract this?
